Refund, Return & Cancellation Policy

Effective Date: 1 August 2026
Last Updated: 1 August 2026

Dass Engineering Private Limited manufactures customized industrial machinery and related engineering products for plastic pipe processing businesses. Many of our products are manufactured, configured, or modified according to the customer’s approved technical requirements.

For this reason, our products cannot be returned or cancelled in the same manner as standard retail goods. This policy explains the conditions applicable to order cancellations, returns, refunds, product defects, inspections, and transit damage.

This policy should be read together with the quotation, pro forma invoice, order confirmation, warranty terms, and any other commercial document accepted for the relevant order. Where an order-specific document contains different terms, the accepted order-specific terms will apply.

1. Order Confirmation

An order is treated as confirmed after:

  • The product requirements and technical specifications have been finalized
  • Required drawings, dimensions, samples, or operating details have been approved
  • The quotation or commercial terms have been accepted
  • The required advance payment has been received
  • Dass Engineering Private Limited has provided or accepted written order confirmation

Customers must carefully review the specifications, capacity, material application, power requirements, dimensions, included components, optional accessories, and scope of supply before confirming an order.

An enquiry submitted through the website, WhatsApp, telephone, or email does not by itself confirm an order.

2. Order Cancellation

Cancellation before manufacturing begins

A cancellation request may be considered when design work, material procurement, machining, fabrication, assembly, or other order-related production activity has not started.

Every cancellation request must be submitted in writing. Approval will depend on the status of the order and any expenses already incurred.

Where cancellation is accepted, Dass Engineering Private Limited may deduct applicable costs, including:

  • Technical planning or design work
  • Administrative expenses
  • Banking or payment charges
  • Purchased materials or components
  • Supplier cancellation charges
  • Other order-specific expenses

The remaining eligible amount, if any, will be communicated after the order has been reviewed.

Cancellation after manufacturing begins

Once design approval, procurement, machining, fabrication, assembly, customization, or production has started, the order cannot ordinarily be cancelled.

Advance payments may become non-refundable after work on a customized order has commenced. This is because materials, components, labour, production capacity, and engineering resources may already have been allocated specifically to that customer’s order.

Any exception will be considered solely after reviewing the production stage, recoverable materials, work completed, and expenses incurred.

3. Return Policy

Products manufactured or configured according to customer-approved requirements are non-returnable.

A return will not be accepted because of:

  • A change in the customer’s production plan
  • A change of preference after order confirmation
  • Incorrect specifications provided by the customer
  • Selection of the wrong capacity, model, or application
  • Incomplete factory preparation
  • Lack of suitable electricity, water, air, foundation, or installation space
  • Failure to arrange trained operators
  • Delay in obtaining local approvals
  • Financial or operational changes at the customer’s business
  • Damage caused after delivery
  • Unauthorized modification or repair

No product should be sent back to Dass Engineering Private Limited without prior written approval. Unauthorized returns may be refused and any transportation, unloading, inspection, or storage cost may be charged to the sender.

4. Refund Policy

Refunds are not ordinarily available for customized or made-to-order machinery.

A refund may be considered only when all of the following conditions are met:

  • A genuine manufacturing defect has been confirmed through technical inspection
  • The defect materially affects the agreed use of the product
  • The issue cannot reasonably be corrected through repair
  • Replacement of the affected component or product is not technically or commercially feasible

Repair or replacement will normally be considered before a refund.

Where a refund is approved, the amount will be determined after considering:

  • The nature of the defect
  • The condition of the product
  • The value of supplied components
  • Work already completed
  • Transportation and handling costs
  • Any benefit already received from use of the product
  • The accepted quotation and warranty terms

Refunds will be processed through a suitable payment method after the product, components, documents, and relevant evidence have been reviewed.

5. Product Inspection Before Dispatch

Our products are inspected at the manufacturing facility before dispatch according to the agreed scope.

Where practical, customers may:

  • Inspect the product personally
  • Nominate an authorized technical representative
  • Review photographs or videos
  • Attend a live video inspection
  • Participate in an agreed pre-dispatch test

Customers should communicate any concern identified during inspection before dispatch approval.

Where the customer does not participate after receiving reasonable notice, Dass Engineering Private Limited may complete its internal inspection and proceed with dispatch according to the accepted order terms.

Pre-dispatch inspection confirms the product’s condition at our facility. Actual performance at the customer’s factory may also depend on raw material quality, utilities, installation, operator practices, maintenance, and production conditions.

6. Reporting a Manufacturing Defect

A suspected manufacturing defect should be reported promptly through email or WhatsApp.

The customer may be asked to provide:

  • Invoice or order number
  • Product details
  • Description of the issue
  • Clear photographs
  • Operating videos
  • Electrical readings
  • Raw material details
  • Maintenance records
  • Installation information
  • Any other information required for technical evaluation

The product should not be dismantled, modified, or repaired by an unauthorized person before the issue has been reviewed. Continued use of a machine after a serious fault becomes apparent may cause further damage and affect the available remedy.

After technical assessment, Dass Engineering Private Limited may provide one of the following solutions:

  • Operating guidance
  • Adjustment or repair instructions
  • Remote technical support
  • Repair of the affected part
  • Replacement of an eligible defective component
  • Site inspection where required and agreed
  • Refund only where repair or replacement is not reasonably possible

The appropriate solution will depend on the nature of the issue, technical findings, warranty conditions, and accepted order documents.

7. Warranty Exclusions

Warranty and replacement support apply only according to the written terms provided for the relevant product or order.

Unless expressly covered in writing, warranty does not apply to damage or failure caused by:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Consumable or wear components
  • Incorrect installation
  • Improper operation
  • Overloading
  • Unsuitable raw material
  • Incorrect voltage or electrical connection
  • Inadequate earthing
  • Failure to provide required water or air supply
  • Poor maintenance or lubrication
  • Accidents or negligence
  • Unauthorized alteration
  • Repair by an unauthorized person
  • Operation outside approved technical limits
  • Improper storage
  • Corrosion caused by unsuitable conditions
  • Damage during customer-arranged transportation
  • Damage during unloading or internal shifting
  • Continued operation after a fault has been identified

Warranty support does not automatically include transportation, technician travel, accommodation, loading, unloading, installation, or labour costs unless the accepted order terms state otherwise.

8. Transit Damage and Shortage

Customers must inspect the packaging and product at the time of delivery.

Any visible damage, missing package, or sign of mishandling should be:

  • Recorded on the transporter’s delivery receipt
  • Reported to the driver or transporter immediately
  • Photographed or recorded before unloading
  • Communicated to Dass Engineering Private Limited as soon as possible

The customer should retain the packaging, consignment note, invoice, photographs, and delivery documents until the issue has been reviewed.

Transit damage is normally handled according to the agreed freight terms, transporter conditions, and transit insurance arrangements. Damage caused during unloading, lifting, internal movement, installation, or storage at the customer’s premises is not considered a manufacturing defect.

9. Customer Responsibilities

The customer is responsible for:

  • Providing complete and accurate technical information
  • Reviewing specifications before confirmation
  • Approving drawings and dimensions where applicable
  • Selecting machinery suitable for the intended application
  • Preparing the installation site
  • Arranging proper electrical, water, air, foundation, and safety requirements
  • Using trained operators
  • Following operating and maintenance instructions
  • Inspecting the shipment upon delivery
  • Reporting problems promptly
  • Preventing unauthorized repairs or modifications

Dass Engineering Private Limited will not be responsible for issues resulting from inaccurate customer information, unsuitable operating conditions, improper installation, misuse, or failure to follow the agreed requirements.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the responsibility of Dass Engineering Private Limited for an accepted claim will be limited to an appropriate repair, eligible replacement, approved refund, or the invoice value of the affected product.

The company will not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of production, profit, revenue, business opportunity, contract, material, or expected savings resulting from downtime or inability to use the product.

Nothing in this policy limits any right or responsibility that cannot legally be excluded under applicable Indian law. The Sale of Goods Act, 1930 and the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 may apply depending on the nature of the transaction and the legal status of the buyer.

11. Changes to This Policy

Dass Engineering Private Limited may revise this policy when its products, manufacturing processes, order procedures, warranty practices, or legal requirements change.

The latest version will be published on this page with an updated revision date. Confirmed orders will remain subject to the terms accepted for those orders unless otherwise agreed in writing.
