Shipping & Delivery Policy
Effective Date: 1 August 2026
Last Updated: 1 August 2026
Dass Engineering Private Limited manufactures and supplies industrial machinery for plastic pipe production and material processing applications. Since many machines are manufactured, configured, or customized according to a customer’s technical requirements, our shipping process differs from the delivery of standard retail products.
This Shipping & Delivery Policy explains how machinery orders are prepared, packed, dispatched, transported, and delivered. It applies to orders placed directly with Dass Engineering Private Limited through an accepted quotation, invoice, purchase order, email, WhatsApp, telephone discussion followed by written confirmation, or another approved commercial document.
1. Shipping Coverage
Dass Engineering Private Limited supplies machinery to customers across India, including factory and industrial locations in Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Odisha, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and other states.
International delivery may also be arranged for selected products, subject to:
- Export feasibility
- Destination-country requirements
- Freight availability
- Packing requirements
- Customs documentation
- Payment terms
- Import permissions
- Technical compatibility
Availability of delivery to a particular location will be confirmed during the quotation process.
2. Order Confirmation Before Manufacturing
Submitting an enquiry through our website, WhatsApp, email, or telephone does not automatically confirm an order or reserve a machine.
An order moves into manufacturing or preparation only after:
- Product specifications have been finalized
- Customization requirements have been approved
- Commercial terms have been accepted
- The required advance payment has been received
- Necessary drawings, samples, or technical details have been provided
- Written order confirmation has been issued or accepted
The estimated manufacturing and dispatch timeline begins only after all required information, approvals, and payments have been completed.
3. Manufacturing Time and Delivery Time
Manufacturing time and delivery time are separate.
Manufacturing time is the period required to procure components, fabricate, machine, assemble, finish, inspect, and test the ordered equipment.
Delivery time is the period taken by the transporter or logistics provider to move the machinery from our manufacturing facility to the customer’s delivery location.
The estimated manufacturing period will be mentioned in the quotation or order confirmation. Delivery time will depend on the destination, route, transporter availability, machine dimensions, shipment weight, road conditions, permits, and other logistical factors.
All timelines are estimates unless a specific date has been expressly confirmed in writing.
4. Factors That May Affect Dispatch
Dispatch may be delayed if:
- The customer changes the approved specifications
- Technical approval is pending
- Required drawings or samples are unavailable
- A scheduled payment is overdue
- Raw materials or branded components are delayed
- Additional testing is requested
- Transport is unavailable for the machine size
- The customer asks us to hold the shipment
- The factory delivery site is not ready
- Events occur beyond our reasonable control
Where a significant delay occurs, we will make reasonable efforts to inform the customer and provide a revised estimate.
5. Shipping and Freight Charges
Freight is not automatically included in the machinery price unless clearly stated in the accepted quotation.
Depending on the order, shipping may be arranged in one of the following ways:
- The customer appoints and pays the transporter directly.
- Dass Engineering Private Limited coordinates transportation, while freight is paid separately by the customer.
- Freight is included in the quoted price where expressly mentioned.
- The shipment is arranged on a freight-to-pay basis, subject to transporter acceptance.
- Export freight is arranged according to the agreed shipping terms.
Applicable freight, insurance, loading, unloading, permits, packaging, and handling charges will be clarified before dispatch wherever possible.
Unexpected costs charged by a transporter because of route restrictions, detention, re-delivery, local entry rules, waiting time, or an inaccessible delivery location may be payable by the customer.
6. Packaging and Preparation for Dispatch
Machinery will be packed or secured in a manner considered suitable for the product, destination, and agreed mode of transportation.
Packaging may include:
- Protective wrapping
- Wooden supports or crates
- Palletization
- Moisture protection
- Component separation
- Tool and accessory boxes
- Securing arrangements for transport
- Export-grade packing where agreed
Standard packing may differ from export packing. Any special waterproofing, fumigation, wooden crating, container loading, or destination-specific packing must be requested before the quotation is finalized and may involve additional charges.
7. Pre-Dispatch Inspection and Testing
Where applicable, machinery may be inspected and tested before dispatch according to the agreed technical scope.
The customer may be invited to review the machine:
- At our facility
- Through photographs
- Through a recorded video
- Through a live video call
- Through an authorized representative
Where the customer does not participate after reasonable notice, Dass Engineering Private Limited may complete its internal inspection and proceed with dispatch according to the accepted order terms.
A pre-dispatch test does not guarantee identical output at the customer’s factory where raw materials, electrical supply, utilities, operation, or production conditions differ.
8. Dispatch Notification
After the machinery is dispatched, the customer may receive available shipment details, such as:
- Transporter name
- Vehicle or consignment details
- Dispatch date
- Invoice or delivery document
- Estimated transit period
- Driver or transporter contact details, where available
Tracking quality varies between transporters. Heavy industrial machinery may not always have real-time online tracking.
Delivery estimates provided by a transporter are indicative and may change during transit.
9. Delivery Address and Access
The customer must provide a complete and accurate delivery address before dispatch.
The customer should confirm:
- Factory name
- Contact person
- Telephone number
- Complete delivery address
- Nearby landmark
- Vehicle entry restrictions
- Road accessibility
- Working hours
- Local permissions
- Unloading arrangements
Dass Engineering Private Limited will not be responsible for delays or additional charges caused by an incorrect address, inaccessible road, restricted vehicle entry, unavailable recipient, or missing site permission.
Any change to the delivery address after dispatch may be subject to transporter approval and additional charges.
10. Unloading and Internal Movement
Unless specifically included in the accepted quotation, unloading the machinery from the vehicle is the customer’s responsibility.
The customer must arrange suitable:
- Crane, forklift, hydra, or lifting equipment
- Trained personnel
- Safe unloading space
- Entry clearance
- Internal shifting support
- Foundation or installation area
The machine should not be lifted using unsuitable points, ropes, chains, or equipment. Damage caused during unloading, lifting, shifting, or storage at the customer’s premises will not be treated as a manufacturing defect.
11. Inspection at the Time of Delivery
The customer or an authorized representative should inspect the shipment before accepting delivery.
Check for:
- Visible damage to the packaging
- Dents, bends, or broken parts
- Missing packages
- Signs of mishandling
- Water exposure
- Damage to control panels or external components
- Differences in the number of packages received
Where visible damage or shortage is found:
- Record it on the transporter’s delivery receipt.
- Take clear photographs and videos before unloading.
- Inform the driver or transporter immediately.
- Contact Dass Engineering Private Limited as soon as possible.
- Retain the packaging and shipping documents until the matter is reviewed.
A clean delivery receipt without any recorded damage may make a transit claim more difficult to investigate.
12. Transit Risk and Insurance
Responsibility for freight risk, transit insurance, and claims will be determined by the delivery terms stated in the accepted quotation or order document.
Where the customer arranges transportation, the customer is responsible for selecting the transporter and arranging suitable insurance unless otherwise agreed.
Where Dass Engineering Private Limited coordinates transport, this does not automatically mean that transit insurance is included. Insurance must be expressly mentioned in the quotation or invoice.
The customer should confirm insurance requirements before dispatch, especially for long-distance or high-value shipments.
13. Delayed Acceptance and Storage
Where a machine is ready for dispatch but the customer requests a delay, has an outstanding payment, or is unable to receive the shipment, the machinery may be held for a reasonable period.
Storage, preservation, handling, re-packing, insurance, or re-testing charges may apply if dispatch is delayed beyond the agreed period for reasons attributable to the customer.
Any resulting extension of the delivery date will not be treated as a delay by Dass Engineering Private Limited.
14. Partial Shipments
Some orders may include machinery, accessories, electrical components, tooling, or spare parts that become ready at different times.
Dass Engineering Private Limited may arrange partial shipments where:
- The customer agrees;
- It supports faster installation or project progress;
- A component is temporarily unavailable; or
- Separate transport is more practical.
Any effect on freight or delivery timing will be discussed with the customer.
15. International Shipping
International orders may require additional documentation and coordination, including:
- Commercial invoice
- Packing list
- Export documentation
- Shipping bill
- Certificate or declaration where applicable
- Customs and destination documentation
- Freight forwarding
- Marine or cargo insurance
- Container or port arrangements
Unless agreed otherwise, the international buyer is responsible for import licences, customs clearance, destination duties, local taxes, unloading, inland transportation, and compliance with local machinery, electrical, and safety requirements.
International delivery timelines may be affected by customs, ports, shipping lines, documentation checks, government controls, and destination-country procedures.
16. Events Beyond Our Control
Dass Engineering Private Limited will not be responsible for shipping delays caused by events outside its reasonable control, including:
- Natural disasters
- Flood, fire, or severe weather
- Road closures
- Strikes or civil disruption
- Government restrictions
- Transporter breakdowns
- Port or customs delays
- Labour shortages
- Fuel shortages
- Public-health restrictions
- War or other emergencies
We will make reasonable efforts to coordinate alternatives where practical, but revised charges or timelines may apply.
17. Relationship With the Accepted Quotation
This policy provides general shipping and delivery conditions. The accepted quotation, invoice, purchase order confirmation, or written contract may include order-specific terms concerning freight, insurance, risk, packaging, inspection, dispatch, delivery, and unloading.
Where an order-specific document contains different delivery terms, the expressly accepted order-specific terms will apply. Indian sale law recognizes that delivery arrangements and the parties’ obligations may be defined through their contract.
